Careers in high-radiation Environment Technologies
Marie Curie Initial Training Network

Development of very radiation hard precision pixel sensors
TALENT Sensor Research will focus on the three sensor technologies that are being explored for the IBL and that show a number of advantages and limitations which have to be well evaluated. Planar silicon sensors require the lowest temperature and high bias voltage, but have well understood manufacturing sources, relatively low cost, and high yield. 3-D sensors require the lowest bias voltage and achieve the highest acceptance due to active edges, but their manufacturability must be demonstrated. Diamond sensors require the least, but their manufacturability with high yield, moderate cost, and good uniformity must be demonstrated.
